California Vacations Knotts Berry Farm

See Park Locality Map

Knotts Berry Farm is located in Buena Park, a small city in Orange County, just 10 minutes from Disneyland Park and only 30 minutes from the Orange County Airport and downtown Los Angeles.

From humble beginnings in 1920 as a roadside stall selling berries, pies and preserves, Knotts Berry Farm has evolved into one of California's foremost entertainment destinations.

"America's 1st Theme Park" now occupies over 160 acres that are home to more than 160 rides, shows and attractions that include ten roller-coasters and three water rides. The park is firmly focused on family entertainment with entertainment for all ages.

In the early 2000's transport and parking were a problem as the site was landlocked. However, since 2007, transport to the park has improved with Metrolink's Orange County Line connecting Los Angeles with Buena Park and nearby Fullerton.

The cost of entrance tickets for Knotts Berry Farm is significantly lower that the other big name parks in California which makes the park one of the best value-for-money choices for families.

The park incorporates six themed areas:

  • Ghost Town - part entertainment, part museum, craft displays and demonstrations, open air stage shows

  • Fiesta Village - Mexican theme area with flat rides and two of the roller coasters

  • The Boardwalk - where to go to find most of the major thrill rides

  • Camp Snoopy - rides and attractions being built specifically for children and themed on Peanuts characters

  • Wild Water Wilderness - a small area that features two major rides

  • Indian Trails - an area which showcases Native American art, crafts, and dance
